Triton Athletics

The Triton Girls Varsity Wrestling team kicked off their 2nd season Saturday at the 2nd Annual Whitko Invitational. 27 schools brought their all girl wrestling teams to South Whitley for the first invite of the Trojans season. Triton is so proud of how the team did placing 10th out of 27 teams. The Seniors look poised to have a great season, as you can see how far they have come since last year. That being said, the new Freshman come out with a bang and really did great in their first ever meet. We had 2 medal winners on the day, as they placed the top 3 in each weight class. Congratulations go out to Bailey Nicely for 2nd place in 140lbs. and Kailyn Schuh for 2nd place in 100lbs. The only down side of the day was that 4 of our wrestlers had to leave early from the meet and forfeit their last match to make it to the Triton Variety show. Had they been able to stay and finish, Triton possibly would of placed in the Top 7 as a team and the girls could of had more medal winners. But in the end, this first meet was more about learning, than winning. Overall it was definitely a great start to the Lady Trojans Wrestling Season!!
