Friday, December 5, 2025 BOURBON, Ind. — In a tense, physical matchup that came down to the final minute, Triton’s JV boys mounted a furious second-half comeback but ultimately fell just short, dropping a 47–44 battle to visiting NorthWood on Friday night. The Panthers opened the game blistering hot, hitting four first-quarter threes and racing to an 18–8 lead. But Triton refused to fold. The Trojans chipped away behind improved defensive pressure and strong interior play, eventually tying the game in the fourth quarter before NorthWood made just enough plays late to escape The Trench with the win. Sophomore forward Levi McFarland delivered a breakout performance, scoring 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting while adding four steals and two rebounds. Jaidyn Arnett added 10 points and five rebounds, knocking down two threes. Max Johnson posted nine points and six rebounds, battling NorthWood’s size inside all night. Colton Large provided a spark off the bench with seven points. Triton struggled from deep, shooting just 4-of-20 from three, but stayed alive by forcing 13 turnovers and scoring 22 points off those giveaways. The Trojans took their first lead early in the fourth quarter, but NorthWood responded with a crucial 6–0 run powered by physical offensive rebounding. NorthWood was led by Sade Yoder’s 13 points and Ethan Sears’ 12, including four made threes. Wadson Gongwer added nine with seven rebounds. The loss snaps Triton’s early-season momentum but shows the group’s growing toughness and ability to claw back against bigger, faster opponents. • NORTHWOOD 47, TRITON 44 At Triton TRITON: Justice Hensley 1 0-0 2, Blayze Hensley 2 0-0 5, Levi McFarland 5 0-0 11, Tyler Painton 0 0-0 0, Jaidyn Arnett 4 0-0 10, Max Johnson 3 3-7 9, Colton Large 2 3-4 7.
