Saturday, December 13, 2025 BOURBON, Ind. — Triton battled early and competed on the glass, but Elkhart Christian’s offensive balance and second-half efficiency proved too much Saturday night as the Eagles pulled away for a 62–33 victory over the Lady Trojans. The game opened with both teams struggling to find rhythm, but Elkhart Christian began to gain separation late in the first quarter and never relinquished control. After taking a 9–6 lead after one, the Eagles steadily widened the gap behind aggressive drives to the basket and consistent perimeter pressure. Triton stayed within striking distance early in the second quarter, trailing 22–10, but Elkhart Christian closed the half on a strong run to carry a 31–16 advantage into intermission. The Eagles then put the game firmly out of reach with a 15-point third quarter, capitalizing on turnovers and converting high-percentage looks in transition. Savannah Hawley led Triton with 10 points and seven rebounds, attacking the paint and drawing contact throughout the night. Avery Viers added seven points and seven rebounds, while Mylie Groves chipped in six points and three assists. Triton struggled offensively, shooting 23.1 percent from the field and 1-of-9 from three-point range, while Elkhart Christian connected on 41 percent of its shots and finished a sharp 9-of-10 at the free-throw line. Lily Maxwell paced Elkhart Christian with 17 points, while Ivy Clapsaddle added 12 and Justine Yordy knocked down three three-pointers on her way to 11 points. The Eagles finished with 26 points off turnovers and dominated inside, outscoring Triton 32–14 in the paint. Despite the final margin, Triton continued to battle defensively and on the boards, matching Elkhart Christian with 27 rebounds and forcing the Eagles into contested shots late.
