FULTON — Triton came away with a 65-58 victory over Caston in the boys track dual Tuesday evening at Caston, getting contributions across the sprints, hurdles, relays, and field events to secure the win. The Trojans set the tone with a strong showing in the short races. Tyler Painton won the 100-meter dash in 11.87 seconds, Cayden Bradley took first in the 200 in 24.79, Jackson Faulkner captured the 400 in 56.04, and Grant Williams added another Triton victory in the 800 with a time of 2:27.58. Caston answered with a big night in the distance events. Kane Finke swept the 1600 and 3200, winning in 5:25.21 and 11:28.00, while Mack Mappin claimed the 300 hurdles in 44.88. The Comets also picked up relay wins in the 4x400 and 4x800 to keep the meet tight all the way through. Triton’s versatility ultimately made the difference. Vinny Prater won the 110 hurdles in 17.45 and later added a discus title with a throw of 116 feet, 10 inches. Cameron Callahan also turned in a standout performance, winning the high jump at 6-0 and the long jump at 18-5. Triton added another first-place finish in the 4x100 relay. Caston continued to score key points in the field events behind Nathanial Runkle, who won the shot put at 39-10 and finished third in discus at 105-5.
