WINONA LAKE — The Triton Trojans boys golf team took on a strong field Saturday at the Don Dicken Invitational held at Stonehenge Golf Club, finishing with a team score of 435. Facing several of the top programs in northern Indiana, the Trojans battled through a challenging course setup and competitive conditions, gaining valuable experience early in the season. Landon Patrick paced Triton with a 99, putting together a solid front nine score of 44 before finishing with a 55 on the back. Patrick’s round included consistent play early, helping anchor the Trojans’ lineup. Gavin Riffle followed with a 105, carding a 52 on the front and 53 on the back. Owen Waymouth added a 110 with a 47 on the front nine. Darrin King finished at 121, while Charlie Worsham rounded out the scoring with a 124. Triton competed against a deep field that included several standout teams such as Homestead (308), Carroll (326), and Warsaw Black (330), all of whom posted some of the day’s top scores. Despite the tough competition, the Trojans gained valuable reps against high-level opponents and will look to build on this performance as the season progresses.
