DENVER — The Triton Lady Trojans struck first Tuesday night, but a big offensive surge from North Miami quickly turned the game, as the Warriors pulled away for a 13-3 win in five innings. Triton came out aggressive in the top of the first inning, plating three runs to take an early lead. The highlight of the inning came from Kaitlyn Frick, who delivered a clutch hit driving in all three Trojan runs. North Miami responded immediately and never looked back. The Warriors scored four runs in the bottom of the first, then continued to build momentum with runs in every inning, including a five-run fourth that broke the game open. The Warriors finished with 12 hits, led by standout performances from Khloe Hovermale, who launched a home run and drove in four runs, and Zoey Sparks, who collected three hits and an RBI. Triton was limited offensively after the first inning, managing just three hits total on the night. Frick accounted for two of those hits and all three RBIs, while Kensie Schuh added the other hit for the Trojans. In the circle, Kyrstin Aldefer started for Triton, working 3.1 innings with four strikeouts. Makenzie Singleton came on in relief. North Miami’s Zoey Sparks shut down the Triton offense after the first inning, tossing five innings with eight strikeouts to earn the win.
