UNION MILLS — Triton opened postseason play in dominant fashion Wednesday night, rolling past Argos 30-0 in five innings in the Sectional Quarterfinal at South Central. The Trojans wasted no time taking control, scoring five runs in the first inning before breaking the game open with 13 runs in the second. Triton added 12 more runs in the third inning to build a 30-0 lead and finished with 26 hits. Levi McFarland was in command on the mound, throwing a five-inning one-hitter with 13 strikeouts and two walks. McFarland earned the win while facing just 19 batters. Triton’s offense had several big performances throughout the lineup. Braxton Kaufman went 4-for-4 with a double, four runs scored, three RBIs and a stolen base. Max Johnson finished 4-for-5 with a double, five runs and two RBIs. McFarland helped his own cause at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four runs and three RBIs. Owen Holbrook was 3-for-3 with a run and two RBIs, while Drew Bingamon went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, three runs and two RBIs. Maddox Dennie added two hits, three runs, three RBIs and two stolen bases. Brayden Gunnels went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs, and Blake Ousley finished 2-for-5 with two runs and four RBIs. Jadyn Prater, Maddux Holloway, Hunter Singleton and Trey Tarlton also added hits for the Trojans. Tarlton drove in two runs, while Singleton, Holloway and Boston Westafer each added an RBI.
