BOURBON - The Triton varsity volleyball team opened its regular season with a hard-fought loss to John Glenn in three sets. After falling 25-19 in the opening set, the Lady Trojans nearly evened the match in a tightly contested second set. John Glenn held off Triton’s late challenge to take the set 25-23 before completing the sweep with a 25-16 victory in the third. Senior Hosannah Chupp led the Triton attack with eight kills. Junior Savannah Hawley and freshman Avery Wright contributed six kills apiece, while sophomore Analeigh Na added four. Na and Wright also led the Lady Trojans from the service line with two aces each. Defensively, junior Sophia Howell collected a team-high 11 digs. Senior Jillian Bules and Na each recorded six digs. Junior Kiyliyen Fear, sophomore Adylyn Stichter, and Hawley each finished with one block. Na directed the offense with a team-leading 20 assists, while Howell contributed six assists. Triton is led by first-year head coach Gina Westafer.
