WARSAW — Seniors Chloe McKinney and Sydney Heckaman finished among the top three golfers Wednesday as Triton placed second in a three-team match at Rozella Ford Golf Club. McKinney shot a 43 to lead the Trojans, finishing second individually. She recorded four consecutive pars on holes two through five. Heckaman followed one stroke behind with a 44, highlighted by a birdie on the par-5 third hole. Brooke Kitch added a 55, while Alexis Young completed Triton’s team score with a 64. The Trojans finished with a 206, seven strokes behind Plymouth’s winning score of 199. Michigan City placed third with a 255. Plymouth’s Taylynn Johnson earned medalist honors with a 3-over-par 38. McKinney placed second, and Heckaman finished third. Triton’s split moved its dual-match record to 4-4 this season. Triton will face Bremen and Tippecanoe Valley on Monday, Aug. 24, at Tippecanoe Valley.
