HAMLET - The Triton varsity volleyball team opened conference play with a victory Thursday night, rallying past Oregon-Davis in four sets, 19-25, 25-17, 25-21, 25-23. After falling 25-19 in the first set, the Lady Trojans responded with a convincing 25-17 victory to even the match. Triton maintained the momentum by winning a competitive third set, 25-21, before holding off Oregon-Davis for a 25-23 victory in the fourth. Freshman Avery Wright led Triton’s attack with 11 kills. Senior Hosannah Chupp added nine kills, while sophomore Analeigh Na contributed seven. Na delivered an outstanding all-around performance, finishing with 40 assists, 16 digs, four aces, three blocks and seven kills. Senior Lydia Hammond collected 14 digs, while junior Sophia Howell added 13. Chupp contributed two blocks to the defensive effort. Sophomore Adylyn Stichter recorded three aces, finishing behind Na’s team-high four. Triton’s junior varsity team completed a straight-set victory over Oregon-Davis, winning 25-14, 25-16. Triton will return home to face Rochester on Monday, Aug. 24 at 5:30 pm.
