🏈 Trojans Fall to LaVille in Season Opener

BOURBON — Triton was unable to overcome an early deficit Friday night as LaVille defeated the Trojans 24-6 at Trojan Tundra in the 2026 season opener. The Lancers scored seven points in the opening quarter and added a field goal in the second to take a 10-0 lead into halftime. LaVille then scored one touchdown in each of the final two quarters. Triton broke through in the fourth quarter when senior quarterback Israel Miller connected with senior Cayden Bradley for a touchdown. Bradley finished with two receptions for 45 yards, including the 35-yard score. The Trojans generated 225 yards of offense, with 182 coming on the ground. Senior Ryder Gayheart led Triton with 173 yards on 32 carries and broke a game-long 38-yard run. Sophomore Tyler Painton added 17 yards on five attempts. Miller completed 2-of-7 passes for 45 yards and a touchdown. Freshman Drew Barker also completed one pass. Triton recorded 10 first downs and controlled possession for 28:11. The Trojans converted 3-of-12 third-down attempts and 1-of-4 fourth-down opportunities. LaVille was led by senior Dylan Miller, who rushed nine times for 126 yards and a touchdown. Junior Griffen Smith added 23 rushing yards and two touchdowns, while junior Lawrence Wood carried 16 times for 58 yards. The Lancers finished with 233 rushing yards and averaged 6.9 yards per carry.
