PERU — Triton delivered three strong performances Saturday to capture the Peru Invitational championship and improve its season record to 6-0. The Trojans opened the tournament with a tightly contested 3-2 victory over Centerville. Max Ritchison and Levi McFarland earned singles victories, while Camden Large and Brady Heckaman secured the deciding point at No. 2 doubles. Triton then defeated tournament host Peru 4-1 in the second round. Colton Large rallied to win a three-set battle at No. 2 singles, while McFarland earned his second victory of the day. Both Triton doubles teams also collected wins, with Brayden Nifong and Max Johnson prevailing 10-7 in a match tiebreaker. The Trojans saved their best performance for the championship, sweeping Twin Lakes 5-0. Three matches required decisive tiebreakers, and Triton won all three. Ritchison overcame a first-set loss to defeat Jackson Dexter 4-6, 6-1, 10-4. Nifong and Johnson won their match tiebreaker 10-4, while Clayton Andrews and Camden Large completed their comeback with a commanding 10-1 tiebreaker victory.
