BOURBON - The Triton varsity volleyball team came within two points of securing a straight-set victory before Bremen rallied to defeat the Lady Trojans in five sets Tuesday night, 22-25, 21-25, 25-23, 26-24, 15-13. Triton opened the match with consecutive victories, taking the first set 25-22 and the second 25-21. The Lady Trojans were close to completing the sweep in the third, but Bremen stayed alive with a narrow 25-23 win. The fourth set required extra points before Bremen prevailed 26-24, forcing a decisive fifth. The back-and-forth match remained close until the end, with the Lions capturing the final set 15-13. Freshman Avery Wright and senior Hosannah Chupp led Triton’s attack with 11 kills apiece. Sophomore Analeigh Na added nine kills while directing the offense with 34 assists. Senior Lydia Hammond paced the Lady Trojans defensively with 18 digs. Junior Sophie Howell collected 13, while Na and senior Jillian Bules recorded 11 each. Junior Savannah Hawley controlled the net with a team-high six blocks. Na contributed three blocks. Na also led Triton from the service line with six aces. Hawley served four aces, while Wright added two. The Triton junior varsity team earned a straight-set victory over Bremen, winning 25-21, 25-17.
