WINAMAC, IN — Five top-10 finishes powered the Triton varsity girls cross country team to the Hoosier Northern Athletic Conference championship on Saturday, October 3, in Winamac. The Trojans scored 28 points to claim the title ahead of Pioneer with 43, North Judson-San Pierre with 55 and Winamac with 92. All five Triton girls earned All-Conference honors and recorded personal-best times. Sophomore Evelyn Gephart captured the individual HNAC championship, winning the 34-runner race in 20:44.96. Sophomore Kensie Schuh finished fourth in 21:15.77. Sophomore Kailyn Schuh placed eighth in 22:20.89, followed by sophomore Isabelle Rettinger in ninth at 22:26.07 and freshman Joelie Stetzel in 10th at 22:27.85. In the varsity boys race, sophomore Gavin Anderson Summe represented Triton with Corgan Young sidelined by injury. Anderson Summe finished ninth among 26 runners in a personal-best 19:02.77, earning All-Conference honors. Every Triton varsity runner set a personal record at the conference meet. Caston captured the boys team championship with 19 points, followed by Winamac with 41. Triton did not field enough runners to record a team score.
