NORTH MANCHESTER, IN — Evelyn Gephart, Kensie Schuh and Kailyn Schuh extended their seasons, qualifying individually for the regional at the IHSAA Cross Country Sectional at Manchester High School. Triton’s girls finished seventh among nine scoring teams with 191 points. Columbia City won the sectional championship with 48 points, followed by Warsaw with 59, Huntington North with 65, Plymouth with 96 and Culver Academies with 148. The top five teams advanced, along with the top 15 individuals from non-advancing teams. Gephart led the Trojans with a personal-best 20:41.30, placing 15th in the 72-runner field. The sophomore improved on her previous best of 20:44.96 from the HNAC championship meet. Sophomore Kensie Schuh finished 43rd in 22:20.60, while sophomore Kailyn Schuh placed 46th in 22:51.50. Both earned individual regional berths, with Kailyn claiming the final qualifying position. Sophomore Isabelle Rettinger finished just outside the qualifying cutoff, placing 47th in 23:00.50. Freshman Joelie Stetzel followed in 49th at 23:11.40. Triton’s five runners finished within 2 minutes, 30.10 seconds of one another. In the boys race, freshman Corgan Young was Triton’s lone competitor, finishing 65th among 78 runners in 22:24.80. Triton did not record a boys team score.
