BOURBON — Triton opened its 2026–27 girls basketball season with a 49–34 loss to visiting John Glenn on Wednesday, November 4, in Caleb Oetjen’s first game as the Lady Trojans’ head coach. Junior Gracie Riffle led Triton with 16 points, including four three-pointers, and grabbed four rebounds. The Lady Trojans stayed close through the opening quarter, trailing 9–7. John Glenn held Triton to two points in the second period to build a 19–9 halftime advantage, then outscored the hosts 17–10 in the third to take a 36–19 lead into the final quarter. Triton finished with its strongest offensive quarter, outscoring the Lady Falcons 15–13 over the final eight minutes. The Lady Trojans made five of their 11 three-point attempts in the second half after going 1-for-12 before halftime. Junior Savannah Hawley contributed six points and two rebounds, while senior Janika Kemp knocked down two three-pointers for six points and added four rebounds and three assists. Senior Lydia Hammond finished with two points, a team-high five rebounds and three assists. Senior Chloe McKinney and junior Austyn Wright each scored two points. Senior Jillian Bules recorded two rebounds and two assists, and sophomore Natalie Crooks collected three rebounds. Triton shot 14-for-43 from the field (32.6%), including 6-for-23 from three-point range. John Glenn held a 28–26 rebounding edge and scored eight points at the free-throw line, while Triton had just one free-throw attempt. Sophomore Lizzy Wright paced John Glenn with 16 points and nine rebounds. Senior Mia Hurford added 14 points and four assists, while sophomore Olivia Egger scored nine.
